Pontotoc County is a growing northeast Mississippi county immediately southwest of Tupelo, with the city of Pontotoc as its county seat. The county's growth trajectory changed dramatically with the opening of the Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant in nearby Blue Springs, which brought thousands of jobs and supplier businesses to the area. Combined with its proximity to Tupelo and a well-regarded school system, Pontotoc County has become one of the more desirable rural counties in northeast Mississippi.
The terrain is classic north Mississippi hill country — rolling hills, mixed hardwood and pine forests, and small farms. The Natchez Trace Parkway passes through the county, adding scenic and recreational value. For land buyers, Pontotoc County offers an unusual combination: genuine rural hill country character with a growth economy driven by Toyota and the Tupelo metro.
