Idaho has been one of the fastest-growing states in America, driven by the Boise metro's tech sector and the broader appeal of mountain-west living at prices below neighboring Montana, Colorado, and Washington. The state's landscape ranges from the Snake River Plain's agricultural heartland to the rugged Sawtooth and Bitterroot mountain ranges to the vast high-desert steppe of the south.
The growth has pushed Boise-area land prices up significantly, but much of Idaho remains affordable and rural. Northern Idaho's lake country (Coeur d'Alene, Sandpoint) has also seen strong appreciation. Eastern Idaho, the Magic Valley, and the central mountain wilderness offer more moderate pricing for buyers willing to trade metro proximity for space and scenery.
